Sponsored by Innovation First international, L-3 Communications, and Greenville ISD, Team 148 the Robowranglers participated in the 2013 FIRST robotics competition "Ultimate Ascent" The game consisted of three robots versus three robots trying to score frisbees each being a different amount of points, and at different heights. At the end of a match the teams would try to co-operate with their alliance teams to climb a pyramid. The Robowranglers' robot, Viper, was able to score frisbees efficiently as well being able to consistently climb the pyramid to the second level. Originally climbed to the top level of the pyramid before an accident happened, and it was modified to only climb to the second.
