2012

Picture
Sponsored by Innovation first international, L-3 Communications, and Greenville ISD, Team 148 the Robowranglers participated in the 2012 FIRST robotics competition "Rebound-Rumble" The game consisted of three robots versus three robots trying to score balls in four different baskets each being a different amount of points, and at different heights. At the end of a match the teams would try to co-operate with their alliance teams or the enemy to balance on their designated bridge. With the  middle bridge also known as  the co-op bridge in order to obtain ranking points. The Robowranglers robot, Scorpion, was able to score balls efficiently as well being able to consistently balance on the bridges with other robots.

Dallas East Regional

March 29th-31st, the Robowranglers made our way to the Dallas convention center every morning to be part of what we have come to consider our home regional. After 11 qualification matches we were 10-1 and the #2 seed. Once again we are proud to say that we were selected by our friends in the #1 seed Team 16, The Bomb Squad. We then selected Team 4090, The Reb Teks, to be the third member of our alliance. Our alliance then went undefeated in the elimination rounds to become the champion of the Dallas East Regional. In addition to this the Robowranglers also won the Motorola Quality Award for the third time this year! Thanks to anyone and everyone for making this Regional possible and keeping it running so smoothly.

Midwest Regional

Our skeleton crew, of eleven students eight mentors and two teachers, met at Greenville High School at 2:30am to depart for DFW International Airport. The team then flew out to make way for Chicago, Illinois where the Midwest Regional would be held. After 11 qualification matches we were 8-3 and the #2 seed. We were selected by Team 16, The Bomb Squad, to join the #1 seeded alliance. We then chose Team 2022, Team Titan, to round out the alliance  Our alliance went undefeated in the eliminations to become the Midwest regional champions. We also brought home the Website Award and the Motorola Quality Award. Thanks to everyone at the regional for making our experience so amazing! This was by far the best regional experience that we have had in years.

Alamo Regional
February 29th, Team 148 loaded up our charter bus to make the five and a half hour drive to San Antonio. Though we were not able to repeat out win last year to say the least we left it all on the field. We were able to accomplish things that no one thought we ,nor any other team, would be able to do. We are very proud of each and every one of our team's member, students and mentors alike. Everyone stepped up to the plate in several tough situations and gave it 110%. And a special thanks to Team 997, U.L.T.I.M.A.T.E. Robotics, and Team 2936, Gatorzillas, for being fantastic alliance partners. We ended the weekend as Regional Finalists and winners of the Motorola Quality Award.

Championship Event
The Robowranglers loaded up once again on our charter bus and made the drive to St. Louis. Unfortunately like last year we were knocked out in the Quarterfinals  the only difference being we were in Galileo this year. This was a great year and we are proud of everyone who helped whether they were a mentor, parent, or student. With a wonderful thanks to Team 33, The Killer Bees, and Team 3322,  Eagle Imperium.
