Picture
Sponsored by Innovation first international, L-3 Communications, and Greenville ISD, Team 148 the Robowranglers participated in the 2011 FIRST robotics competition "Logo-motion" The game consisted of three robots versus three robots trying to hang tubes to create FIRST logos for points. At the end of a match a mini-bot could detach from the robot and racce up a pole for bonus points. The robowranglers robot, Raptor, was able to hang logos quickly and efficiently as well being able to consistently deploy their mini-bot to win those bonus points. Raptor led the team to two regional victories, one in San Antonio with Teams 16 and 3481, and the Dallas regional with 2848 and 3037. At the championship event the team seeded third with a record of 9-1 in the Newton division and picked teams 234 & 2481. We advanced to the Quarter-finals in our division. Through out the season we also won the San Antonio Industrial design award, the Dallas Motorola Quality award, and the Newton Division coopertition award.
