Sponsored by Innovation First, Inc., L-3 Communications Integrated Systems and Greenville ISD, Team 148, the Robowranglers, participated in the 2010 FIRST Robotics Competition.  In the 2010 FRC game, "Breakaway," two three-team alliances compete in each match.  The object of the game is to attain a higher score than your opponent by shooting balls into a goal, climbing on the alliance tower or platform, or by lifting an alliance robot off the playing surface.  Team 148's robot, "Armadillo", was able to score multiple balls from any location in each match.  "Armadillo" led the team to first place finishes at the FRC Dallas Regional with teams 2016 and 1817 as well as the FRC Lone Star Regional with teams 118 and 647.  At the Championship Event in Atlanta, the team advanced to the finals in the Archimedes Division with teams 33 and 201.  The Robowranglers also took home the Motorola Quality Award and Coopertition Award from the Dallas Regional and the Xerox Creativity Award and Coopertition Award from the Lone Star Regional.
